I am a bad blogger
hmmm, do i update the past or move to the future . . . if I say that I am going to catch up on our lives here in North Ogden it isn't going to happen. Summer has gone by too fast! I am going to be a better blogger beginning September 1st! I can't start now, I have to work up to it.

The No Good Very Bad Day
If only the day could have been bad because I have lost my cell phone (again), or because the screen on my company laptop cracked, or because I didn't have a Diet Coke. Today is a no good very bad day for all of us. Kenzi had to get her Kindergarten shots, which let's face it those hurt! But then we had to put our little Bailey to sleep. Bailey is our 4 year old Golden Retriever. These are the times when I wish we were millionaires, but Bailey our Golden Retriever developed a neurological disorder in which she was unable to urinate. Her bladder was the size of a basketball, and she is a very thin Golden Retriever. She also developed kidney failure because of this. I am very grateful that John did this, I just couldn't take her because I knew she wouldn't be coming home with me. She gave us a lot of bad days, she chewed my furniture, she dug many holes in the yard that I twist my ankle in, and she has run out of the backyard many times. She popped my back out and I had to go a chiropractor to snap it back in, she was our "Marly" dog; but she was still a part of our family and loved very much! Kenzi and Korbin are not taking this very well. We are going to each write Bailey a letter or draw her a picture, that was Korbin's idea that he got from "Marley and Me". Although Bailey did make us crazy at times, we did have a lot of good times with her. Korbin discovered she could pull them in the wagon, she took care of Sumo's kittens, she always cleaned up the floor after dinner, and she always had the look in her eye that just said I love you! We will miss you Bailey!

Where did the time go?
There has been so much going on, but you really wouldn't know it from our blog; so here is the catch up.
Korbin has finally learned how to ride the big kid 4 wheeler. Not the one for adults but the mini ones they make for kids. He loves to go to grammies house and practice in all of the dirt, and is really looking forward to going camping. He also just turned 7 on the 17th. We had a little family get together and I have not seen Korbin in the house since! We gave him a scooter, my mom & dad gave him a skateboard with a ramp, Wendi gave him roller blades, and Todd & Cara gave him a really cool rocket launcher that launches the rocket at least 100 feet in the air I swear! We have been having a ton of fun with it, and Korbin is getting better with his roller blades and skateboard. I am just grateful that the weather has been so beautiful.
I will get some pictures up soon of the weekend event!
We did celebrate Easter and I will be posting pictures of dying eggs, and the Easter Egg hunt.
Ohhhh, and one more big thing that has happened, I won an HCG diet, and I have been on it for 3 day now. I had to start another blog that is dedicated only to that diet so if you want to check it out with all the details, go here Jodi's HCG Journey.

All Is Well!
I am so happy it is March. I hate the month of February, for a month that has the fewest days, it seems to drag on and on. It is when I start getting spring fever, start thinking of flowers to plant, and dreaming of what our backyard is going to look like this summer. Today is beautiful with the sun shining and the best part, the kids can play outside and ride their bikes to their heart content. The sickness has left our house, the sun is shining, and I am happy! There really isn't anything else that is going on, and I am not going to complain about THAT!!! Have a great week everyone!

2 Sick Weeks
It all started at 2Am on Monday, February 9th. Kenzi had crawled in bed with me when I heard the sound that every mother dreads, especially in the middle of the night. You all know the sound I am talking about; the one that starts with a cough, cough, cough and then . . . well, let's just say you are just thankful they missed your head.

Her teacher had told me that all the kids in her class had been coughing and sick so I just figured she had caught a bug, and put her on some Tylenol flu medicine. By Friday when she wasn't getting any better, John took her to the doctor and we found out she had Pneumonia!
The oxygen machine was delivered, and we have been to the doctor everyday since! Since our doctor wasn't working on Sunday we had to take her to the doctor that was working that day. He had us take her off the oxygen only to find out on Monday from our doctor that she should never have been taken off the oxygen (I love doctors) so we got to take home another fun machine; a nebulizer.
3 shots later, one oxygen machine, an oral prescription, and a nebulizer; Kenzi has had it with everything she is going through!
I told her she could play with the photobooth on my computer as she did her breathing treatments with the nebulizer; this has seemed to help her complain a little less about having to breath in some nasty tasting air. As you can see she took some interesting pictures of herself.

I have bribed her with a shopping day if she will take her medicine, wear her oxygen mask at night, and do her breathing treatments 4 times a day. I think once this illness is over it will only set us back a few $100, donations can be made to . . . .

Change
I don't handle change as well as I should. It comes in and shakes my world up just a little bit more than what I am comfortable with. One would think that after 31 years of changing times you would become immune or at least used to it . . . but not me. Now there were changes in my life that i actually enjoyed; getting married, having 2 beautiful children, graduating from High School and going on to college, but there is one change that is about to happen and I am not ready! My parents are moving. I grew up in that house and it has 23 years of memories inside of it. I remember crying in the bathroom because I didn't want to go to my 2nd grade class (I hated my teacher), I remember my dog coming to meet me at the mailbox everyday when I got off the bus, but most of all I remember some of the best neighbors that I still see when I pick up my little shorties from my mom. The best part of this house, was the dirt road. When we moved into the house I was 7 years old. Every night my mom and I would go for a walk down the road and at the end of the road was a huge rock (and I say was because they have started to take pieces of it away; I am not even sure if it really is a rock or just a big rock part of the mountain), called Huntz Rock. Inside this huge rock lived an owl, named Barny. This was also at the time that I hated going to school, and I looked forward to every night that my mom and I could go on our little walk together. It also happens to be the best place in the world to walk your dog. They can run free for miles, and dig for tons of mice. I am going to miss that place, even if I am 31 and haven't lived there for almost 10 years. Honestly; then I wonder why my little guy Korbin cries when we talk about moving . . . the apple really does not fall from the tree!

Happy 5th Birthday Kenzi!

Kenzi had her first birthday party at the Teddy Bear Factory in Layton. She had so much fun, and although nothing could compare to being a flower girl on your birthday and having over 50 people sing Happy Birthday to you in a castle; this was a close 2nd! She had a ton of fun with her friends playing games, stuffing their favorite animal, and picking out their clothes.

At this point I am thinking oh, Jessica that I work with.
Text from Jessica: LOL did u get a new number
Me: No, only this one
Text from Jessica: I put the wrong number in my phone lol what u up 2?

Jessica: LOL no worries
Me:

What a Difference a Year Can Make
If you had told me last year that I was going to be happier and that everything was going to be okay, I would have laughed in your face (well more like cried).
It has been one year since I was laid off from my job that I had for 6 years! At that time I thought for sure that my life was over as I knew it. My priorities were so mixed up!!! I remember walking to the parking lot on January 2nd thinking to myself what am I going to do? I was depressed, and couldn't even talk about my old job without crying. I look back now and just laugh at myself. Getting laid off from that job was the best thing that could have ever happened to me!
I am a different person; my family means more to me now, and the "corporate ladder" isn't even in my vocabulary. I don't remember what the Salt Lake airport looks like, but remember helping Korbin and Kenzi with their lemonade stand in July.
I love my new job, I love that I get to work with old friends, and even meet some new friends. It is the best job a girl like me could ever want! So here is 2009, although being fired from my last job turned out for the best . . . I like this job; and I really don't want to lose it! Keep your fingers crossed, and one eye open!
